Samsung has officially begun rolling out One UI 9, based on Android 17, to Galaxy S26 , S26+, and S26 Ultra users . Other devices will receive it later.
One of the notable innovations is auto-centering in video. The feature can track a selected person in an already recorded video and automatically adjust the framing to keep the subject centered. Samsung suggests using this feature, for example, when preparing videos for publishing on social media.
The "My Day" dashboard now features generative and customizable cards. Users can choose what information to see in their daily report: health data, weather, videos, and other content.
Samsung has also expanded its suite of AI tools. AI Suggestions can now suggest context-sensitive actions—for example, displaying booking details or saving a location during a meeting chat. Creative Studio can pre-suggest image ideas for upcoming events, including birthdays.
Translate now features a Thread View mode, displaying previous conversations as a single thread. Samsung has also accelerated conversation translation and playback of translated speech through compatible Galaxy Buds. The document scanning feature now handles curved pages and dog-eared corners better, and Voice Recorder automatically creates summaries with headings, tables, and other structured elements.
The company has also strengthened its security features. Security Brief in My Day displays warnings about malware, apps from unknown sources, and suspicious permissions. AI-powered privacy alerts monitor potentially risky background app access, and the scam call detection feature has expanded its geographic coverage and language support.
Availability of individual One UI 9 features depends on your smartphone model, language, and region. The update is rolling out gradually, so you may have to wait a bit.
