Microsoft Photos version 2025.11090.25001.0 on Windows 11 will get an automatic photo categorization feature. The tool automatically categorizes, then detects and organizes your photo collection into categories like screenshots, receipts, IDs, and notes using AI. Currently, the feature is available on Copilot+ computers, and the categories are limited to four types: screenshots, receipts, IDs, and notes. Here’s how to enable automatic photo categorization on Windows 11.
Instructions to enable automatic photo classification on Windows 11
Step 1:
Open the Photos app on Windows 11 and click the gear icon to access the app’s Settings.

Step 2:
Go to the settings interface for the Photos application, scroll down to the Personalization group. Now you need to enable the Allow image categorization setting to enable automatic categorization mode on the computer photo application.

As a result, we will see the image on Photos classified with the receipt image as shown.

Photos will be automatically grouped into predefined folders based on visual content.
